About the Backstreet Boys:

The Backstreet Boys (sometimes referred to as BSB) are an American vocal group, formed in Orlando, Florida in 1993. The group consists of A. J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell.

The group rose to fame with their debut international album, Backstreet Boys (1996). In the following year they released their second international album Backstreet's Back (1997), and their U.S. debut album which continued the group's success worldwide. They rose to superstardom with their third studio album Millennium (1999) and its follow-up album, Black & Blue (2000).

After a two-year hiatus, they regrouped and released a comeback album Never Gone (2005). After the conclusion of the Never Gone Tour in 2006, Richardson left the group to pursue other interests. The group then released two albums as a quartet: Unbreakable (2007) and This Is Us (2009).

In 2012, the group announced that Richardson had rejoined them permanently. In the following year they celebrated their 20th anniversary and released their first independent album, In a World Like This (2013). The group also released their first documentary movie, titled Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of in January 2015.

The Backstreet Boys have sold over 130 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling boy band in history, and one of the world's best-selling music artists. They are the first group since Sade to have their first nine albums reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200, and the only boy band to do so. They also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 22, 2013.

The Script feat Labrinth touring Australia April-May 2015

Frontier Touring are proud to welcome back multi-platinum selling band The Script to Australia and New Zealand to play a string of arena shows in April and May 2015!
The Dublin-raised, London-based trio – Danny O’Donoghue, Mark Sheehan and Glen Power – are no strangers to Australia, having sold out multiple arena shows on their previous visits and currently in the country on a whirlwind visit promoting their new album No Sound Without Silence(out now through Sony).
The band has not lost an ounce of momentum since the release of their debut self-titled album in 2008. The album shot straight to the top of the charts in Ireland and the UK and features iconic hits like ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’ and ‘Breakeven (Falling to Pieces)’.
Science & Faith, featuring the heart wrenchingly beautiful chart topper ‘For The First Time’, was released in September 2010 and once again landed the #1 spot in Ireland and the UK, debuted at #3 on the ARIA album chart and peaked at #3 on the US Billboard 200.
Their last studio album #3 followed suit to its two predecessors and was certified multi-platinum throughout the world. The album well and truly cemented The Script as a diverse and world-leading band, especially with global mega hit ‘Hall of Fame’ which featured lead singer Danny O’Donoghue’s co-judge on The Voice UK will.i.am and was used in Channel 10’s promo for the 2014 Winter Olympics.
‘Hall Of Fame’ peaked at #1 across the globe and has now garnered almost 139 million views on YouTube, 138 million streams on Spotify and is six times Platinum in Australia!
The band’s YouTube channel boasts close to a million subscribers and has racked up over a massive 400 million views with the number growing rapidly as the band continues to dominate the charts with latest offerings like  ‘Superheroes’.
The ‘Superheroes’ clip clocked almost 1.5 million views in under a month, with 724,000+ of those views in the first three days! The track is the lead single from the band’s fourth studio album No Sound Without Silence. The album debuted at #5 on the ARIA Albums Chart and landed the very top spot in the UK.
Despite having been handpicked to open for the likes of U2 and Paul McCartney, The Script have well and truly proved why they deserved to be headliners in their own right. Confirming the band’s identity as a strong stadium band, their 2013 tour spanned across 11 months, four continents and included 63 arenas and 18 festivals – selling out a number of shows including London’s O2 Arena along the way.

Lion King roars into Perth
A generation has been raised on the The Lion King film.

It's the enchanting Disney Broadway smash that has been seen by more than 80 million people worldwide - and now The Lion King is coming to Perth.

More than 20 years after the animated film stole our hearts and 18 years after the stage adaptation of Simba's story had its first New York run, The Lion King will play at the Crown Theatre for the from November 21.

The Lion King, "reimagined" from the film by acclaimed director and costume designer Julie Taymor, tells the story of heartbroken lion cub Simba returning from exile to rise up against his evil uncle Scar and succeed his father Mufasa as king.

On the way he gets help from pals Zazu, Timon and Pumbaa, as well as childhood sweetheart Nala and spirit guide Rafiki.

The highest-grossing musical so far, the Lion King won six 1998 Tony Awards and boasts music by Elton John and Tim Rice, including the hit Circle of Life.

Thomas Schumacher, one of the fathers of The Lion King and Disney's president of theatrical productions, has raved about New Zealand actor Nick Afoa, who plays adult Simba in the Australian production.

"That kid is glorious," he said. "His version of Endless Night moves me deeply."

Rob Collins, an indigenous actor from Darwin, has been celebrated for his role as Mufasa and Josh Quong Tart is a delectably detestable Scar. WA Academy of the Performing Arts alumni Nicholas Li and Bernard Angel are also in the cast.

Tickets go on pre-sale on June 15. Register at www.thelionking.com.au/perth

Wicked coming to Crown Theatre Perth May 2015

Wicked coming to Crown Theatre Perth May 2015

WICKED PREPARE TO BE SPELLBOUND

The most awarded new musical and Broadway’s number one show will thrill Perth at the Crown Theatre from May 2015. Awe-inspiring and spectacular, WICKED is the untold story of the witches of Oz.

Long before Dorothy dropped in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood.

The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. WICKED tells the enthralling story of two unlikely friends and how they became the wicked witch of the west and Glinda the Good.

It is based on the 1995 Gregory Maguire novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, an alternative telling of the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz and L. Frank Baum's classic 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The musical is told from the perspective of the witches of the Land of Oz; its plot begins before and continues after Dorothy's arrival in Oz from Kansas and includes several references to the 1939 film and Baum's novel.

Wicked tells the story of two unlikely friends, Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Glinda the Good, who struggle through opposing personalities and viewpoints, rivalry over the same love-interest, reactions to the Wizard's corrupt government, and, ultimately, Elphaba's public fall from grace.

Giant Rabbits At South Perth Foreshore for Fiesta Festival

Giant rabbits have appeared on the South Perth foreshore in March, as part of the Fiesta Festival.

The City of South Perth's arts and events co-ordinator Sabrina Bruni told 6PR Radio the giant, illuminated and inflatable rabbits would appear along the South Perth Foreshore from March 15 to 21.

They will be at various locations along the foreshore, some as tall as seven metres, others as long as seven metres.

Ms Bruni couldn't reveal exactly how many rabbits would be on the foreshore but did confirm they would multiply through the week.

"As part of the festival we have a theme called transformation, which is all about transformation of spaces. We thought what better way to transform our iconic foreshore," Ms Bruni said.

The rabbits, designed by Australian Amanda Parer, were originally made for the Vivid Light Festival in Sydney.

After the giant rabbits make their Perth debut, they will then travel to France, the UK and US.

Fiesta 2015 will run from March 8-21.
